Saudi Aramco, the currently biggest crude oil company, got the contract for the project „Construction of Hawiyah Unayzah Gas Reservoir Storage (HUGRS)“. It was then carried out by Samsung Engineering, a South Korean oil and gas company.
The project is valued to 1.85 billion US-Dollar.
In winter excessive sales gas is introduced into the existing drilling. Due to regional features it is then possible to produce gas in sommer. Consequently you can satisfy the rising demand.
In a joint venture, PSI now has to test 53 field lines of various sizes (08“, 10“, 16“, 20“, 24“ and 56“) with the multi channel caliper pig. Up to now about half of the pipelines have been tested successfully. The project is expected to be concluded in spring 2023.
